Community Immigration Legal Services

For more than 25 years, the Archdiocese of Detroit has demonstrated an abiding commitment to the immigrants and refugees of the metropolitan area by providing immigration legal services, as well as resettlement and acculturation assistance to those in need.

It is estimated the archdiocese has touched more than 40,000 individuals and families who are seeking the American dream.

Community Immigration Legal Services (CILS) operates as a non-profit component of the Archdiocese of Detroit to assist low-income immigrants who cannot afford or otherwise access such services.

How to obtain CILS services

If you have an immigration issue and would like to consult with CILS, you must call our office and arrange for an appointment prior to any meeting.  Unfortunately, we cannot accept walk-ins at this time. Additionally, we can only assist individuals that live in the surrounding six counties which are Lapeer, Monroe, Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair and Wayne.

Once an appointment has been scheduled, please gather all of your relevant immigration documents and bring these with you at the appointed time. During your initial appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your matter with a member of our office who will determine if our office can be of assistance.

At this time we do not have a Detention Program.
