Praying for World Peace
As Catholics, we reach out to people of peace from all faiths. Join Archbishop Allen Vigneron and local leaders and members of other religions as they offer a prayer for world peace on the eve of Sept. 11. The service is from 4 to 5 p.m. at Second Ebenezer Church in Detroit.

A Night of Prayer and Music
The public is welcomed to join musicians from throughout the archdiocese for a gathering of prayer and song at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament at 5 p.m. on Sept. 12. The evening will include a recital from St. Anastasia organist Christine Chun.

The Next Voice for Catholic Public Policy
The Michigan Catholic Conference, the public policy voice of the Church in Michigan, has named Paul Long its next president and CEO. Long, who has been the MCC's vice president for public policy since 1994, will assume the post Nov. 15. He succeeds longtime president and CEO Sr. Monica Kostielney, RSM, who is retiring.
